My philosophy in doing a restoration is to maintain the look and feel of an older home while updating it with modern conveniences, like the replacement windows, new oak floors and a more efficient heating system. The original look of the room was restored by removing the old lath and horsehair plaster, uncovering the original log wall, which was then repaired.
